Acupuncture

What is Chinese Medicine? Chinese medicine includes acupuncture, herbal formulas, moxibustion, bodywork, meditation/qi gong & dietary therapy. Acupuncture uses very thin needles to stimulate the nervous system, immune system & fascia. In acupuncture it is believed that there are pathways called meridians & that along these channels are points that are stimulated to remind the body how to heal itself. Over a series of treatments, depending on how long the disease process has been going on, the cumulative effects of acupuncture relax the nervous system & reduce the inflammatory process. Acupuncture also stimulates the body’s ability to relieve pain & release endorphins.

Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs are a mainstay of Traditional Chinese Medicine which is one of the oldest & most respected alternative healing modalities in the world. From as early as the 16th century BCE, herbal formulas were used to treat a variety of illnesses.
